The Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI) has intensified its efforts to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and promote intra-African trade. As part of its mandate, PACCI has launched several initiatives aimed at enhancing cross-border trade and fostering economic collaboration across the continent.

In June 2024, PACCI reported that intra-African trade grew by 7.2%, hitting a value of $192 billion. The chamber has been actively pushing for more investment in SME training programs to enable small businesses to scale up and compete on a global level. Additionally, PACCI continues to work closely with the African Union to promote the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which is seen as a key vehicle for driving economic prosperity across the continent.

Key highlights include:

  • Support for SMEs through specialized training programs.
  • Promotion of cross-border trade and collaboration among African nations.
  • Ongoing efforts to strengthen the AfCFTA as a tool for economic integration.

PACCI remains at the forefront of efforts to ensure that chambers of commerce across Africa play a vital role in supporting trade, investment, and entrepreneurship, ultimately contributing to sustainable economic growth.
