The newly established Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines, and Agriculture (NDCCITMA) is making significant strides in fostering regional economic development. With its focus on nano, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the chamber is committed to promoting trade and commerce within the Niger Delta region. By partnering with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), NDCCITMA aims to drive economic transformation by providing support and resources for businesses of all sizes, from artisanal ventures to large-scale organizations.

The chamber’s efforts align with NDDC’s broader goals of regional development, with a specific focus on agriculture, industry, and commerce. Ambassador Idaere Ogan, Chairman of NDCCITMA, praised the initiative’s success under the leadership of NDDC’s Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, emphasizing that the collaboration between the chamber and NDDC will be instrumental in achieving long-term economic growth in the region.

Key initiatives include:

  • A memorandum of understanding with NDDC to enhance trade, industry, and agriculture.
  • Support for youth development programs and MSMEs through partnerships with financial institutions.
  • Capacity-building programs for entrepreneurs in the region to adopt global best practices.

This chamber will play a pivotal role in attracting new businesses and technologies to the Niger Delta, supporting its transition from transaction-based to transformation-driven.
